The Port of Runavík is situated in the heart of Faroe Islands in the southern part of the island Eysturoy. Eysturoy is connected with subsea tunnels to Norðuroyggjar and Streymoy. The Port of Runavík is located by Skálafjørður, the longest fjord in the Faroe Islands, and the port is well known as being particularly safe and well protected.
The port has all modern facilities with a total quayside of 2 km. The Port of Runavík includes 14 harbours in the villages Runavík, Saltangará, Glyvrar, Søldarfjørður, Skála, Skálafjørður, Funningsfjørður, Oyndarfjørður, Æðuvík, Rituvík, Lamba, Skipanes, Funningur and Elduvík.
The Port of Runavík is an active business port with status as one of the most important fishing ports in the Faroe Islands and has been since its foundation in 1916. The port's business structure centres on five core areas: Cruise, fishing, cargo, supply base and maritime service.
The port is open 24/7 and all service is available around the clock.
